This program is responsible for the enforcement of public health laws and
ordinances pertaining to transient housing and institutions.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND SERVICES
- Inspect transient occupancy housing such as hotels and motels.
- Inspect private and parochial schools, day nurseries and boarding homes.
- Inspect room and board facilities housing for "special needs clients" such as the mentally and physically disabled.
- Inspect adult and juvenile detention facilities, probation facilities and court holding facilities to evaluate for compliance with standards for medical services, nutritional services, and environmental services.
- Coordinate activities with other agencies in the area of specialized housing. Inspect shelters for battered persons, housing associated with homeless programs, subsidized housing and halfway houses.
- Investigate incidents of carbon monoxide poisoning
